Schools Remind Motorist To Look For Buses

school_bus_fleet_GPSIt’s that time of the year again. Kids are heading back to school across the Lake Area and the Osage Beach Police Department is teaming up with local school districts to remind motorists of the safety precautions involved with school buses and bus stops. Since the Lake’s topography is quite unique, there are several areas where buses will stop to pick up kids that may be difficult for motorists to see before it’s too late. Sergeant Arlyne Page says motorists need to pay attention and also remember that on any roadway less than four lanes drivers in both directions must stop as the bus loads and unloads students. If the highway contains four or more lanes, vehicles traveling in the opposite direction don’t have to stop.
