A 24 year old teacher from the St. Elizabeth R4 school district is now facing child pornography charges following an investigation by the Miller County Sheriff’s office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. As we reported to you on Tuesday, Stephen Strobel had been arrested after investigators found 15 nude images of children under the age of 18. Prosecuting Attorney Matt Howard of miller county has filed 2 felony charges on Strobel who currently is being held in the miller county jail on a $500,000 bond awaiting a court date of May 19th where he will be arraigned. A full release indicated that the Missouri State Highway Patrol had conducted an investigation due to communications from law enforcement in Ohio which lead to the retrieval of Strobel’s cell phone and computer that had images of a naked 13 year old female from that area. At first St. Elizabeth R4 officials had placed Strobel on administrative leave but sources close to the school have indicated that he has since been completely removed of his position. School officials have also indicated that they will be conducting their own investigation but do not believe the teacher had any contact with students at this time.
