Miller County Courthouse

The conviction of woman found guilty in the drunk driving death of her boyfriend in Miller County has been upheld.  The Missouri Court of Appeals has affirmed the 1st degree involuntary manslaughter conviction of 38 year old Julie Laux who was found guilty in the 2011 death of Kenneth Eicholz near St. Elizabeth.  The Miller County Prosecuting Attorney’s office has released a statement saying the court has rejected Laux’s contention that the prosecutor failed to present sufficient proof of the cause of Eicholz’s death.  Laux’s bond has since been revoked and she has begun serving her sentence which includes 5 years probation and a suspended prison term of 7 years with a requirement that she serve 120 days in jail.
