Two boating incidents occurred on Labor Day at Truman Lake. According to the Highway Patrol’s Water Division, the first incident happened at the 1 mile mark of the Osage Arm where 42 year old Andrew Schmitt fell off the tow he was being pulled with on 38 year old Jeff Simmon’s 1994 Rinker boat. Schmitt received serious injuries and was taken to Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia. Incident number 2 was a hit and run at the State Park. Troopers are looking for more information about the unknown boat and driver that struck a 2014 Bass Tracker that was moored on the docks at the time. If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact the Highway Patrol as soon as possible.
