Two Dead In Benton Car Crash

Mo-State-Highway-Patrol_Colored_over-transp_3W2 people are dead after the vehicle they were riding in crashed in Benton County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 20 year old Mark Harken from Prairie Village Kansas was traveling southbound in his 2000 Ford Explorer on county road 1301 when he lost control of the vehicle, traveled off the left side of the roadway and then struck a group of trees and overturned. During the incident, 20 year old Evan Westhoff from Fairway Kansas was ejected from the vehicle. He was flown by the staff for life helicopter to Research Medical Center in Kansas City in serious condition along with 19 year old David Draxler from Prairie View Kansas. 20 year old Lukas Fleming, also from Prairie View Kansas, was taken to a hospital in Overland Park, Kansas. 20 year old Gage Hamilton from Overland Park Kansas, was taken to University Hospital in Columbia. The driver, Harken, was taken to Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton where he was later pronounced dead while 18 year old Clayton Miller from Kansas City, Missouri was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Reser Funeral home in Warsaw. Missouri Highway Patrol Troop A along with the major team crash investigation unit assisted in the incident.
