Lawmakers return to the State Capital next month for the upcoming veto session in which they will attempt to override some of Governor Nixon’s decisions. Nixon vetoed more than 30 bills but a series of tax breaks are believed to be the most contested. Republicans now have a supermajority in the house following the August 5th primary giving them more than the two-thirds majority required for vetoes. They already have that majority in the senate. The veto session starts on September 10th.
