Congress woman Vicky Hartzler who represents the 4th congressional district serving the Lake of the Ozarks region was in town this past weekend visiting the Laclede Electric Cooperative. Hartzler visited the co-op to learn more about the power grid reliability in our region and what impact the new E.P.A. rules could have on the Cooperative and it’s members. Several members of the co-ops across the state also attended the meeting to inform Hartzler of their worries about the new E.P.A. standards that could make coal powered electric extremely difficult to produce without major costs. The majority of the electricity produced in Missouri is powered by coal plants.
