Voters Perception of MODOT

Lake area residents will soon join voters across the state in deciding the fate of proposed three-quarters of one cent sales tax increase to support transportation.  Governor Jay Nixon recently announced action to put the proposed constitutional amendment on the August ballot.   The plan would generate an estimated $534 million dollars a year for ten years to support roads and bridges and other transportation infrastructure.  Some Missouri lawmakers say whether voters approve or reject the proposed amendment could have a lot to do with their perception of MODOT which has greatly improved in recent years according to many at the State Capitol.
