A recent reduction in transportation funding will have an impact on the Missouri Transportation System. The recent construction budget fell to 325 million dollars in Fiscal Year 2017 creating a huge problem for the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission. They voted earlier this month not to add additional projects to the statewide transportation improvement program and to suspend the cost-share program that has enabled communities to build projects they otherwise could not afford. This will be the prime topic of discussion during the 2014 Missouri Conference on Transportation that will be held on Thursday, January 23rd at 1p.m. at the capitol plaza hotel in Jefferson City.
