MoDOT says the early numbers from the historic snowfall three weeks ago are pretty historic themselves.
Initial estimates put the total cost of clearing the state’s 33,000 mile highway system at $7.7 million dollars. Twenty-five hundred employees used 1,600 pieces of equipment and 90,000 man hours to clear the roads.
Thirty thousand tons of salt was also used as state trucks logged 1.1 million miles on the roads.
