A father and son from Texas visiting the Lake of the Ozarks for the first time had a fishing trip recently they will not forget any time soon. On March 15th, Val Grikis and his 12 year old son Ryan were fishing with local guide Jack Uxa near the 8 mile marker of the Grand Glaize arm, when Val reeled in a ten pound bass. Uxa, a seasoned professional said quote “I’ve been guiding for 13 years and fishing in tournaments even longer than that and I can tell you this was the largest bass I’ve ever seen come out of the water” unquote. The big fish weighed in officially at 10.11 pounds. Uxa is happy to report the bass was released back into the water and swam off immediately.
