When Missourians go to the ballot boxes for the November General Election, one of at least two statewide issues to be decided is whether those who vote in future elections must show a state or government-issued I-D before casting their votes. The concept, according to Lake Area State Representative Rocky Miller, is a no-brainer that is really just being used as a political battleground.
Currently, voters in Missouri do NOT have to legally show any ID other than, perhaps, a voter registration card. Representative Miller goes on to say a provision of the ballot calls for the State to pick up the tab to issue an acceptable I-D to those who cannot afford to get one on their own.
