Work will now soon begin on what was increasingly becoming a dangerous situation on a stretch of roadway in Miller County. The county commission, Wednesday, conducted a bid opening to award the Hoecker Road project, near St. Elizabeth. There were three companies submitting bids for the work with Mike’s Dozing, here in the Lake Area, being awarded the contract at a price tag of just under $45-thousand. The work includes replacing rock in the area and fixing washout caused by the weather. Funding for the project is coming from FEMA with the county cutting down on the bottom line by hauling material for the work which should take, weather permitting, two or three weeks to finish.
