Calling it a matter of safety for everyone involved and a way to record evidentiary records, body cams will soon be on the way to be used by city police officers in Lake Ozark. Chief Gary Launderville says his department recently applied for a grant and has been awarded the $10-thousand maximum which will go a long way toward the cause.
Currently, Lake Ozark police do not have any recording devices outside of the office and on the streets. Chief Launderville, in the meantime, adds that fundraising efforts to try collecting the remaining four-thousand dollars needed will start with a canvas of local businesses.
