One of the Lake Area’s “most wanted” fugitives is taken into custody. Camden County Lieutenant Arlyne Page says Brian Dale Baker was arrested after a routine traffic stop in Bay County, Florida. When first spotted for an equipment violation, Baker allegedly tried to elude the deputy by pulling into a closed business and switching seats with his 14-year-old son who, reportedly, then sped from that location and pulled into another closed business where the stop took place. Both Baker and his son gave the deputy false identity information before admitting their true identities. At that time, Brian Baker was arrested on local charges of resisting without violence and allowing a minor to drive a vehicle. Baker is also being held on the Camden County warrant issued in early November for one felony count of domestic assault and misdemeanor counts of domestic assault, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment. Family service officials in Florida took temporary custody of the 14-year-old who was to be turned over to his grandmother who lives locally in that area. The Camden County bond for Baker is $100-thousand cash-only with an added stipulation of GPS monitoring.
