With the election behind us and the votes all counted, the next step is looking at the overall turnout. As of right now, the exact turnout numbers are still unknown. However, if the rest of the Lake Area followed the pattern of Camden County’s absentee votes, the overall numbers would be lower this year than in the previous presidential election. Camden County Clerk Rowland Todd reports that around 3,700 people came to the polls early for absentee voting. Those numbers are significantly lower when compared to 2012’s Presidential Election, where nearly 4,700 county residents came to submit an absentee vote.
