Missouri State Rep. Rocky Miller’s house bill 1759 will seek to add an additional judge to the 26th judicial circuit beginning Jan 1, 2018. The bill passed in the House and is now headed to the Senate.
This judge will serve Camden, Morgan, Miller, Laclede and Moniteau counties. Miller wrote in his Capital Connection newsletter on Monday (4) “The Lack of a judge is causing our area millions of dollars in damage every year” Miller continued by saying “Judges are picked based on your populations, except we have four million tourists coming to the Lake of the Ozarks. It tends to crowd our court system”
