After a forcible sodomy charge was dropped, admitted child rapist Aaron Michael Fisher is scheduled to be back in a Laclede County courtroom today on a charge of first-degree felony assault in connection to the same incident. The former Brumley man, who was picked up in Ohio, had entered a guilty plea to the sodomy charge but it was dropped due to his right to a speedy trial being violated. Fisher is being represented by the public defender’s office which has filed for the most recent charge to be dismissed to due violations of double jeopardy and, again, the right to a speedy trial being violated. The hearing today will also take into consideration other motions including a special prosecutor being appointed and a possible bond reduction. His bond is currently set at 100-thousand dollars. The case is being heard in Laclede County on a change of venue from Miller County.
