Ameren Missouri customers will soon see a slight decrease in their electric bills.
The Missouri Public Service Commission is approving the company’s request to adjust the renewable energy standard rate, lowering it by $0.27 cents a month.
For a residential customer using 1,000 kWh (kilowatt-hours) of electricity a month, the charge will drop from $0.44 a month to $0.17 a month.
The charge appears as a separate item on the monthly electric bills and it’s used to recover costs associated with Missouri’s Renewable Energy Standard.
The adjustment is expected to take effect in February 2021.
