The current Lake level is 661.6 feet. River level is 577.4 feet. The cubic feet per second discharge is currently 61,420. However, even though Lake levels coming down, some area residents are questioning Ameren’s handling of the situation, questioning why the floodgates were not opened sooner. Ameren reports they opened the floodgates on Saturday, thus responding appropriately and well within the guidelines of their Federal Energy Regulatory Commission license.
