With the Winter weather in the area, Ameren Missouri has opened up its Emergency operations center at 5:30 yesterday evening to prepare for any power issues that could arise as a result of the ice, snow or wind. Ameren officials said in a press release that employees who respond to outages have been asked to come to work on Thursday with their bags packed. As the weather develops, employees will be deployed to the hardest hit areas. Ameren encourages residents to report any power outages or downed wires by going to the AmerenMissouri.com/outage or by calling 1.800.552.7583. If you do see a downed power line stay away from the line and call Ameren immediately or dial 911. Any wire on the ground can be live and could cause you serious harm if touched or driven over with a vehicle.
