Ameren Missouri ratepayers will pay more on their bills beginning with the first of October thanks to higher fuel and transportation costs.

The utility recently made filings with the Public Service Commission concerning its FAC tariff.

The tariff allows the company to pass increases or decreases in its net fuel and purchased power costs to customers outside of a general rate case.

With this latest adjustment Ameren says for an average  residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity a month, the charge will increase from 41 cents a month to about $2.70 per month.

Ameren Missouri provides electric service to over 1.2-million customers in Missouri including in the Lake Area.
