Ameren Missouri is scrapping a plan to acquire a wind production facility in Atchison County. The utility provider says the upgrades to the system required for the project are too costly. Ameren announced late last week that they have mutually agreed with EDF Renewables to terminate the development of the 157-megawatt wind facility. They still have agreements in place to develop wind facilities in three counties. Those sites will cost $1.2 billion to develop and are expected to generate 700 megawatts.
