American Legion Post 217 In Warsaw Receives New Anchor

The American Legion Post 217 In Warsaw was recently given a new item to display.

It’s a large white anchor, weighing in at around 6,000 pounds.

Two air funnels from a World War 2 Victory Ship were also mounted on the left and right sides of the anchor.

Officials say the anchor adds to the tank and cobra helicopter that are on display, which now help to represent all 5 branches of the military.

A dedication ceremony for the anchor and a picnic lunch are being planned for next summer, due to COVID 19 concerns.
