Anniversary Of Eldon Tornado Is This Friday

This Friday marks one year since the EF-2 Tornado in Eldon.

The Tornado started west of the Eldon Country Club, damaging numerous homes along the southern and eastern portions of the city.

The Twister moved through the city, taking out numerous houses, businesses and the Rock Island City park.

The Tornado continued for 32 miles tracking into downtown Jefferson City, were it evolved into a violent EF-3 with wind speeds up to 160 miles an hour.
