The appeal period for the revised floodplain maps in Camden County is ending next week. By statute, the county had to print the proposed maps for the public for a period of 90 days and June 6th will be the end of that 90 days. Planning and Zoning Administrator Kim Willey says, so far, she has not received any appeals that are supported by scientific and technical data that’s necessary to show the proposed revised maps are incorrect. She says that, after the appeal period ends, FEMA will issue the Letter of Final Determination approximately 60-90 days later. However, if a valid appeal is made before then, additional time may be required to review the data.
