A Miller County man is facing felony charges following an accident that landed him in the hospital with serious injuries Friday night. The Highway Patrol reports 38 year old Jerry Twehus of St. Elizabeth failed to negotiate a curve in his 1993 Buick Century, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. Twehus was airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries. He also faces several charges including felony possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, DWI and careless and imprudent driving. The accident occurred on Highway 52 just east of Highway 17.
