Asbestos removal and remodeling work has been approved for the Camden County Courthouse and facilities that surround it.

The Commission approving a bid of $4.7 Million dollars to have the asbestos removed from the floor tiles, from the glue on the baseboards and to have some issues with the roof leaks repaired

According to the commission, the courthouse is being closed for around eight weeks for the project and workers are to relocate to the old Missouri Extension Building as well as the Annex in the White House.

Construction is expected to begin in the next couple of months, with work on the White House being first and the entire project expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
