The Highway Patrol says a man injured in a crash on Highway 54 near Eldon yesterday morning fell asleep at the wheel. 55-year-old Allen Jenkins of Jefferson City apparently dozed off while driving. His Dodge Ram drifted off the road, hit the guardrail and overturned. To make mastters worse, they say he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. Jenkins was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by Miller County Ambulance.
A Camdenton man suffered serious injuries last night when his pickup truck went off the road and struck a guardrail and a rock bluff on Route D near Post Office Road. According to the Highway Patrol, 23-year-old Richard Dryer wasn’t wearing a seat belt, and was flown by Staff for Life helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
