Two drownings, including one at Lake of the Ozarks. a near drowning and several other injuries are being reported, statewide, so far this weekend by the highway patrol. Although details are sketchy, the highway patrol does confirm a drowning which happened Saturday afternoon in New Tribes Cove, near the Ha Ha Tonka area. Some reports are attributing a medical condition as a possible contributing factor to the drowning. KRMS News will pass along further details when made available by the highway patrol. Elsewhere here in the Lake Area, a 35-year-old from Leawood, Kansas, was seriously injured when he hit rough water before impacting the PWC he was riding on in Workmen Hollow Cove, and a 22-year-old from Waynesville was seriously hurt while a 55-year-old from Rolla suffered minor injuries when the boat they were on had mechanical failure causing the steering to go out. The boat to rotated ejecting one of the occupants who was hit by the prop. Elsewhere around the state, a 37-year-old from St. Louis drowned while swimming in the Meramec River in Crawford County and a 51-year-old man from Shawnee, Kansas, man was seriously injured in what is being called a “near drowning” on Table Rock Lake in Stone County.
