Work on a comprehensive audit of the Camden County Government is taking a little longer than expected. The state auditor’s office says their field work continues on the first review of the county’s operations to take place since the 1990’s. Presiding Commissioner Greg Hasty says it’s their understanding that the auditors have expanded their scope as well.
Hasty adds that he has no doubt the auditors are finding problems to be corrected. He issued a warning to brace the community for what may be coming.
The state auditor’s office says they anticipate releasing the final report of their work prior to the end of the year.
