With all the rain we’ve had over the past week and the projected rain over the next several days, officials with Ameren-Missouri continue dealing with changing Lake levels on a daily basis. Warren Witt, director of hydro-operations at Bagnell Dam, says it’s a delicate balance taking into account discharge from Truman Dam, the lake level at Bagnell Dam and the interests of property owners downstream and beyond…
Recently, the floodgates were partially opened at Bagnell Dam in an effort to maintain the Lake at its current level of just over 659. Witt also says, by the middle of next week, it’s anticipated that the gates will have to be opened up again with a projected flow of some 50-thousand cubic feet…or about 374-thousand gallons of water per second passing through the gates.
