The Mexico, Missouri man accused of causing the death of Highway Patrol Trooper James Bava last summer during a high speed chase has posted bail. On Wednesday (2), the judge in the case granted a bond reduction for 21 year old Serghei Comerzan. Comerzan’s bond was reduced from $250,000 to $100,000 dollars. Trooper Bava died in August after his patrol car crashed and caught fire in Audrain County while pursuing a motorcycle allegedly driven by Comerzan. Comerzan is facing several charges including 2nd degree murder. Trooper Bava had been stationed in the Patrol’s Troop “F” which serves several mid-Missouri counties including the tri-county area.
