The Grand Glaize Beach is no longer under a swim advisory, but now Public Beach 1 is, instead. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources does not recommend swimming at the beach because, when they tested the water on Monday, the E. Coli level was higher than the recommended level they consider safe. Lake Area Representative Rocky Miller says he doesn’t believe it’s that big of a deal.
Representative Miller, who is an Environmental Engineer says, according to a study done by Missouri S&T and USGS, 60% of the time when advisories are put out the E. Coli has already been cleared up.
