Members of the Camden County Planning and Zoning Commission are contemplating the future of Beacon of Hope Church and the homeless shelter it operates in Osage Beach. Church pastor Steve McQueen has asked to rezone the property on Runabout Drive to allow for residential use. The ministry has eight residents who will be evicted, if the zoning is not changed from industrial to commercial. About 20 people attended a public hearing, last week. Some were business owners concerned about their property, near the facility. McQueen says the residents are supervised and have a curfew. The decision meeting is set for May 18th.
