The Benton County Commission met this week in regular session with several items on their agenda. Commissioners started the meeting off by officially recommending and approving the purchase of a new truck for $2,275 based on specifications given to them by MODOT. Commissioners also talked with the Jail representative about new technology upgrades needed and decided to put the item on their next budget meeting. The Commissioner also discussed their medical insurance plans, the insurance for the fire damage at the county storage building and what the Missouri American Water Company’s potential purchase of the Benton County Sewer District # 1 could mean to residents. The Public Service Commission had announced a public meeting which will take place this month regarding the purchase back in October.
