The Benton County Commission says they’re making progress on the area roads. At their last meeting the associate Commissioners updated the Commission on the conditions of the area roadways after working on clearing brush, adding new gravel to the roads that needed it and grading roads that were not level. The board is looking into new material prices for 2015 from the area quarries. Other business discussed included the Transportation Engineering Assistance Program which is an 80% matching fund program that the county is planning to use on Cold Springs road with the Great River Association. The total cost of the project for the roadway is going to cost over $4,600 with the county picking up just over $900 worth. The grant will help to collect information on traffic and safety in the overall improvements made to the road.
