The Benton County Commission is eying legislation passed in Camden County as to how to protect 2nd Amendment rights in the county.

According to the Benton County Enterprise, Commissioners heard from residents involved with the Benton County Republican Women’s group about what Camden County’s ordinance means for the Lake area.

The report indicates that Commissioner Larry Berry’s wife, Peggy Berry, along with BCRW Vice President Martha Foster have been speaking with officials and media in Cole Camp, Lincoln and Windsor as well as Sheriff Eric Knox about the Second Amendment Preservation Act passed last week by Camden County.

Benton Commissioners indicated that they would investigate further and are reaching out to the town attorney for more input on the matter.
