Improvements are on the way for the Benton County E-911 Center.

Director Jessica Mayfield tells the Benton County Enterprise that they’re bringing their center “up to full staff” and modernizing all equipment.

That includes new dispatching consoles, which replace the ones put into use in 2004 when the center first opened.

Mayfield, who became director in October, says the goal is to have better communication’s with other jurisdictions and to make sure the staff is fully trained.

There are three dispatchers currently undergoing training and Mayfield hopes to hire three more in the coming year.
