One of the largest economic events of the year is underway around the lake. Bike Fest 2017 kicked off yesterday, marking the first time that the annual event has been expanded to include Wednesday. Tim Jacobsen from the Lake Ozark Regional Economic Development Council says Bike Fest generates over $8 million in economic impact and is the largest event of the year in terms of room-nights created. Related events will take place at area businesses through Sunday.
Jacobsen says most of the money is coming in from other areas.
Make sure you get in on the passport program and visit all participating businesses for a chance to win a Harley Davidson.
