Some local students may soon have the opportunity to say the Pledge of Allegiance a little more often. A bill that would allow public school students to say the pledge of allegiance every day in school rather than once a week is under consideration. This past week house bill 499 passed by a vote of 9 to 0 in committee and will be headed on the house floor in about a week. Supporters of the bill say it doesn’t force anyone to say the pledge, it just allows them the opportunity to do so each day.
