Texting and driving could become illegal in Missouri if a state senator gets his way. David Pearce has pre-filed a bill that bans texting and driving for all ages. Currently only drivers 21 and younger are prohibited from doing so. Pearce sponsored a similar bill last session but it and other distracted driving bills failed to make it thru the state legislature. The senator believes things could be different this time around. Missouri is one of six states that allow drivers over 21 to text and drive. According to the highway patrol, more than 350 car accidents in Missouri in 2012 were caused by drivers who were texting.
