There could soon be help on the way for mothers suffering from postpartum depression or other related mental health issues in Missouri.

A house bill sponsored by Representative David Wood of Versailles passed on the final day of the legislative session, and it contains an emergency clause for when it’s signed into law.

The bill calls for Medicaid health coverage to be extended for 12 months postpartum.

The bill initially was introduced to ban the use of vapor products in any indoor area of a public school or school bus while, at the same time, allowing individual school boards the chance to adopt additional policies relating to vapor products.
