With the summer season right around the corner, the US Coast Guard is hoping to help train a few drivers. Anyone born after January 1st, 1984 is required by Missouri State Law to carry a NASBLA-approved boating safety cards, as well as photo ID, in order to operate a vessel. A class to obtain that certification is being offered next weekend. The course will be Saturday, the 8th, at 8:30 a.m. at the Elks Lodge in Laurie. The cost is $30. To register, call 573-280-2455.
