There are some bogus bills floating around Laurie. Police Chief Mark Black says a number of area businesses have been receiving phony $100 bills. They should be pretty easy to spot, but apparently they’ve still been slipping through. The Chief says the funny money is darker than most bills and has a different texture. They also have a dark blue stripe on the front and what appears to be Chinese writing on the back. In addition, so far all the bills recovered have had the same serial number. If you receive one of the bad bills try to get a description of the person who passed it along with their vehicle, and contact the police.
