By the time today comes to an end, Miller County commissioners will then begin crunching the numbers together to draft a proposed budget for the fiscal year. Presiding Commissioner Tom Wright says the final day of budget hearings is not expected to bring about any real issues. Wright also says his biggest problem heading into finalizing the budget is how to fund the operations within the county jail.
Wright also hopes to incorporate some pay raises into the budget. Since Miller County is a third-class county, the fiscal budget needs to be signed, sealed and delivered by the end of this month.
