The Camden County Commission has written out bullet points regarding the meeting that was held last week on the proposed nightly rental bills. Their concerns include the definition of residential dwelling rental, the ability to collect the taxes, and the ability to enforce new regulations enacted by a political subdivision. Second District Commissioner Don Williams says the biggest concern is the possibility to be regulated more strictly.
According to House Bill 608, a political subdivision will be allowed to make regulations for nightly rentals and the broad term of a political subdivision could include more than just a county government, such as a fire district or health department.
