You may soon have a new way to access businesses on the Bagnell Dam strip. A draft proposal for a new bus service says it could be up and running within 90 days. The plan calls for two buses to run from the dam to Port Arrowhead Lodge. The estimated $140,000 cost would be provided on a 50/50 split between Tri-County Transportation and private business investments. OATS Transportation will operate the bus line, which currently has a proposed rider fee of $1. In addition to freeing up parking spots on the strip, the plan would also improve mobility for residents from Fish Haven Apartments and the senior center. The bus line could also potentially connect riders to Osage Beach. Workers at businesses on the strip could be provided bus passes to take them to their vehicles and make more parking spots available.
