Just how busy has the water patrol division of the highway patrol been so far this season? Judging by current numbers the answer would be pretty busy. Heading into this week, since the Memorial Day weekend, there have been at least 35 incidents on the water at Lake of the Ozarks including two drownings from over the past week alone. In addition to the drownings, the reports have included nine minor injuries, 14 moderate injuries and four serious injuries. There was also a triple fatality boating accident which occurred the week before Memorial Day not included in the numbers. And with the Shootout and Labor Day weekends still to come, the highway patrol says it will continue to keep as many troopers on the water as possible at any given time. A BWI checkpoint is also scheduled to take place sometime before this month comes to an end.
