The need for blood is never ending and now there are upcoming blood drives in the Lake Area will hopefully help them restock the supply…especially when it comes to one blood type…

“Locally we are very low on O-Negative blood. We have less than a one day supply on our shelves” says Michele Teter of the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, “O negative is the universal blood. If you were to have a wreck on I-44, and you’re bleeding on the spot, you’re going to get O Negative blood. They’re not going to have time to match you and find out what your blood type is.”

Teter spoke on KRMS’ Morning Magazine.

The  next drive-in the area is this Monday (today) at the Camdenton United Methodist Church.

There’s also one this coming Thursday from 11 to 5 at Mercy Hospital in Lebanon.

The next one in Osage Beach is Monday October 17th at Lake Regional Health System, also from 11 to 5.
